Koala Sovedyret

	Suncritters Alpheratz aka Koala.
	Born: 16th May 2002 at Suncritters, Copenhagen.
	Color/markings: Seal point siamese rex, dumbo carrier.
	Parents: Suncritters Frigg - himalayan standard, and Snapdragons Baldrick - double rex siamese dumbo.

	All this critter does is eat and sleep! But to keep him from gaining too much weight I try to keep him active when he's out of the cage. He gets along very well with the other rats, an is very calm and cuddly! He kept a thick mat of a rex fur until he was almost two, now he's thinning a bit on the sides. His siamese colors are nice and dark. He was mated to Adyssa's Sukhothai, owned by Henrik Olavesen, in April 2004, and produced a very nice litter of 10. More info can be found at the Squeakers pages. Koala has a weight of around 610-620 grams. He became quite active when he got older, around the time when Fenris passed away. Or was it after he was mated? ;)
	At 26 months of age, Koala became paralysed in his hind legs, and over the course of two weeks, gradually also in his front legs. He was put to sleep on July 29, 2004. Autopsies showed age-related encephalopathy (brain disease) leading to the paralysis. He was otherwise in good health despite his old age.
