Heidi's oldies

Alex: Black hooded male My first rat, bought at Tropica in Trondheim in 1989. Full name: Alexander the Great! He weighed about 650g as a fully grown rat, so his name suited him. He lived alone his whole life, I didn't know better! My rat book said males would fight, and I didn't want a female and babies... But he got a lot of attention, and I brought him with me almost anywhere, also to school! He died of a respiratory infection (or possibly old age!) when he was about 3 years old.
Duffi: Chocolate self female A very small female. I got her from one of my friends who couldn't keep her anymore, when she was about half a year old. She only lived to be a little more than a year, I had her put to sleep because of cancer, and she also struggled with myco.
Release: Black hooded male These two rats were rescued from a horrible death, someone wanted to throw them off a bridge! Luckily someone knew that I would take them instead, so they moved in, in the beginning of 1992. I gave them the names Release and Parole, because I wasn't sure I would be able to keep them as I was going to start my studies soon! They were said to be about a year old when they moved in. Both lived with me for a little bit more than a year, I do not know their exact age when they died, both within a month. I believe they died of respiratory diseases.
Parole:Agouti hooded male
Rottepotte:Agouti Irish female My second pair of "rescues". I got these two from a friend who was allergic, they moved in in 1992, and my friend got them back after about a year, because she believed she could tolerate the allergy better. It was of course sad to give them away! The girls were very calm for female rats, and we had a lot of fun playing with cat toys and snuggling on the sofa, in front of the tv.
Snooze: PEW female
